Volunteer and Membership Coordinator Position

The Information Architecture Institute is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to advancing and promoting information architecture. Founded in 2002, the Institute now has over 700 members in 40 countries.

Job description

The IA Institute is seeking a part-time, permanent Volunteer and Membership (VM) Coordinator. This person will be responsible for building organizational infrastructure for volunteer and membership support, improving member services, and managing volunteer and membership programs.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing support for existing and new volunteer initiatives. Recruit participation from the membership, provide volunteer orientation and support, structure an initiative reporting system, serve as POC for volunteers participating in initiatives and events, and provide related services.

• Improving the membership experience. Develop an improved welcome packet, provide membership orientation, ensure timely delivery of renewal notices, determine member satisfaction and needs, and manage the membership database.

• Building organizational infrastructure. Develop processes and systems to support an expanded volunteer and membership program, and make recommendations on member benefits and other member and volunteer services.

10 hours/week, $25/hour, contract position.

Job qualifications

Required skills and experience include non-profit management experience in volunteer and/or membership coordination, skills in working with IT staff, strong writing skills, and leadership experience.
