IA Institute Business Model Canvas: We Need Your Help!
As a part of the conversation started at the Annual General Meeting in New Orleans, the Board is entertaining new ideas for how the IAI operates and how its business and revenue models work. We are using the Business Model Canvas framework (more info here) and are looking for fresh ideas about all the elements included in the framework.
Take a few moments and help craft the future of the IAI. Also, tell your friends!

IA Summit Interviews with Andrea Resmini, Peter Stahl, Patrick Quattlebaum and Christina Wodtke
IA Institute board members Chris Baum and Jeff Parks interviewed a number of IA Summit speakers in New Orleans this year. Listen in to learn about the importance of rhythm and flow to the user experience, navigation as cross-channel sense making, driving holism in cross-channel design and the past and future of Boxes and Arrows.

University Collaborations
The IA Institute fosters links with the research and academic communities, through our educational program listings, the Journal of IA, hosting World IA Day events at university locations and promoting other worldwide academic events and conferences. Even our own Operations Manager, Noreen Whysel, has gotten on the ball and will be starting a Masters program in Cultural Informatics at Pratt Institute in Fall 2012. We have just uploaded a revised listing of programs teaching Information Architecture.
In the meantime, we are happily beginning to review grants for our 2012/13 IA Research Grant Program, including a record seven entries. The grants jury Jason Hobbs, Keith Instone, Kathryn La Barre, Thom Haller, and Nils Pharo are reviewing the proposals and will announce the winner in our next newsletter.

Mailman Outage Resolved
We noticed on April 24 that our iai-members list had stopped accepting posts. As of May 9, all of our Mailman discussion lists were offline, including iai-members, iai-jobs, iai-mentoring, ux-management and other Mailman discussion lists at the lists.iainstitute.org server. Dreamhost was able to get the lists back up today. The IAI Newsletter was not affected by this outage.
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused.
