New Membership Coordinator

The IAI Board is very pleased to announce that Melissa Weaver has joined the IAI staff as Membership Coordinator. She will serve as point of contact for IAI members, answering membership and volunteer related questions, as well as taking your suggestions about improving the member experience. Melissa can be reached at membership AT iainstitute DOT org.

Over the past decade Melissa has worked both as a volunteer and as a staff member in a variety of nonprofit organizations. Her fortes include project management, recruiting and managing volunteers, welcoming and caring for members, and building technological and organizational infrastructure. She has an MLIS from the University of Washington iSchool.

IAI Salary Survey

Our 2006 Salary Survey is now open at:

IDEA 2006

We are now accepting registration for IDEA Conference. The registration form is located at http://www.mollyguard.com/event/30720887.

Addditional speakers added as of June 21:

  • Fernanda Viegas, IBM Research, History Flow (information visualization)
  • Robert Kalin, Etsy.com (next-generation commerce and community site)
  • We will also have a representative from the National Park Service's publications center, responsible for the cross-media design of brochures, exhibits, and online media
