The Information Architecture Institute Board of Advisors is pleased to announce the two recipients of our Information Architecture Progress Grants.

Matthew Milan of Canada will work on "Hybrid Tool Development for Sustainable Information Architecture," a "toolkit... to help address IA undertakings that support the guidance of web-based information environments as they continue to grow and mature."

James Robertson and Donna Maurer of Australia will work on "a set of heuristics and a heuristic review kit that can be applied specifically to intranets. The heuristics will cover key aspects of information architecture (site structure and search), screen design and layout, content and intranet strategy. The kit will include information on how and when to run the heuristic evaluation, plus limitations of the technique."

The goal of the Progress Grants is to encourage and publicize useful work that furthers our knowledge of information architecture. For more information see http://www.aifia.org/pg/ia_progress_grants.php.

We would like to congratulate Matthew, James and Donna, and thank everyone who sent an application for participating in the grant program.
