December 16, 2003 -- AIfIA will sponsor the "First Seminar on Information Architecture, Usability and Digital Texts, Chilean Experiences" in Chile this month.

The one-day seminar runs on December 19, 2003, in Santiago, and is expected to attract around 150 people. It will include talks about IA, usability and technology issues, giving audiences a broad perspective on those topics. The seminar is being organized by a group of Chilean information architects and Usando.info.

"The information architecture community in Chile is a strong but isolated group which is working to improve recognition of IA as a critical part of the web development process," said conference organizer Felipe Tepliski. "This seminar will help show our strengths to the market and gain a place in the academic forum. In addition to AIfIA's support we have the support of two major universities in Chile (Universidad de Chile and Universidad Diego Portales)."

"We are pleased to lend our name and support to this exciting event," said AIfIA board member Lou Rosenfeld. "AIfIA's working to build a global IA community and we are particularly excited about the growth of our discipline in Chile, and around the world."

More details on this event are available on the conference website.
