Early registration ends Sat. Feb. 22 for the upcoming AIfIA Leadership Seminar
February 21, 2003 06:21 PM
February 21, 2003 -- The early registration deadline for the AIfIA Leadership Seminar on March 21--as well as the ASIS&T IA Summit--is this Saturday, February 22, 2003. Participants who register on or before this Saturday will pay the early-bird rate of $US 500. After February 22, the cost rises to $US 575.
The Leadership Seminar will cover some of the toughest problems faced by today's information architects. The session's speakers, which include IA pioneers like Peter Morville and Lou Rosenfeld, are promising a lively and interactive gathering. However, registration is limited to just 50 participants to ensure productive group discussions and break-out sessions.
Registration
Participants can register for the AIfIA Leadership Seminar online using a major credit card at the IA Summit 2003 web site. Proceeds from the Leadership Seminar will help support AIfIA.
Speakers & Topics
Victor Lombardi, an information architect at Razorfish, says this about his session on content management systems: "I was fascinated to see the results of our content management system survey. People are citing the usual problems with CMS like content migration, but also that the software is both too rigid and that it requires too much customization. For me what is exciting is having the opportunity to share design approaches to content management systems specifically geared to information architecture practitioners. There are time-tested techniques that have rarely been shared before and which I think will serve people in a practical way."
Rashmi Sinha, an independent consultant, will discuss her project User Research for Information Rich Domains. Rashmi's session will include information from her upcoming CHI Conference paper on persona development.
Peter Morville's session on Strategy, Architecture and Tomorrow's Web will include data from the Future of Information Architecture surveys. And Lou Rosenfeld and Karen McGrane will investigate information architecture's value proposition.
