Job description

The Sage Group is looking for a Visual Designer for an up and coming start-up in Palo Alto, CA. This individual will be responsible for creating the visual identity of product interfaces across a variety of technologies and platforms for a suite of web and mobile applications for the company.

Responsibilities Include

- Utilize stunning visual skills and sharp analytical abilities to create elegant and smart visual designs for web and mobile product lines.

- Drive more effective design and process ideas to fruition under tight timelines.

- Participate in design-sharing meetings and foster a strong sense of team by providing feedback to cross functional teams.

- Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Development teams to translate product requirements and wireframes into compelling visual design.

- Ability to produce clean, thoughtful, functional and on-brand design, demonstrated in an online portfolio.

- Firm foundation in visual design standards, including color, layout, typography, and usability concepts.

Job qualifications

Skills Required

- 3+ years of visual design experience, particularly for software, web or mobile applications. Must have stunning visual skills and sharp analytical skills with a passion for all things design

- Strong foundational knowledge of layout, color, grids, icons, typography, proportion, photography, motion/rich media and brand to create elegant, smart solutions and high-quality deliverables

- Strong understanding of production process and mechanics

- Proven ability to adapt to changing demands and timelines

- Must be a creative and collaborative team player with a proven history of accepting and giving constructive feedback

- A strong portfolio, available for viewing, showing great sense of design, creativity and good communication

Skills Preferred

- Familiarity with iOS and Android design approaches and standards

Timing: Permanent, 40 hours/week

Start: ASAP

Location: Palo Alto, CA, on-site/off-site flexibility
