Information Architect

University of Southern California

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Full-time, permanent position.

Job description

WHO WE ARE
As the central ITS Web Services group within the University of Southern California, we work for a variety of clients throughout the university, from schools to individual professors. We’re a small, multi-talented team – there are just ten of us – and, as such, we’re an extremely collaborative group. You can check out our work at: http://www.usc.edu/web.

We also offer great benefits, including tuition assistance and a 10% retirement match.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who loves designing information architecture for websites, can handle multiple projects in different phases simultaneously, isn’t afraid of deadlines and likes contributing to a team environment.

Job qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
You’ll be conducting and documenting client interviews, user research, and usability testing. You will also need to be comfortable creating and presenting the usual IA deliverables including personas, user scenarios, alignment models, sitemaps, page description diagrams, etc.

WHO YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH
You’ll be collaborating with web designers, developers and project managers, so being comfortable in a team environment is a must. You will also need to present and sell web and content strategies to clients. Communication skills are key here, as are a rich understanding of user-centered design processes and information architecture principles.

ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?
We are looking for someone who loves what they do, likes learning something new every day and takes pride in the quality of their work.

Keeping up to date with web trends. The web is constantly evolving. You should be too.
