Job Description
Information Architects work closely with internal clients to translate business rules and requirements into standard deliverables for content-rich, web-based projects of varying sizes and scope. Projects are varied and span the entire enterprise including life insurance, retirement, real estate, human resources, etc. IAs are responsible for leading the user-centered design process.
Job Responsibilities
Depending on the unique requirements for a given project:
+ Conduct end user needs assessment and task analysis using appropriate techniques, e.g. interviewing, ethnography, site usage data analysis, etc.
+ Understand, translate and refine business needs and requirements.
+ Must communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
+ Perform heuristic site evaluations and competitive analysis; communicate results and implications.
+ Work closely and iteratively with clients including managing their expectations, presenting, and facilitating design sessions.
+ Promote, conduct and assist usability testing and other user validation exercises.
+ Create and revise quality information architecture documents including but not limited to; site maps, personas, wireframes, flow diagrams/process maps, and detailed functional specifications.
+ Work with designers and developers to refine the user interface.
+ Assist with UAT testing.
Job qualifications
Job qualifications+ Preferably 5+ years experience primarily as an IA in an Internet consulting environment or in the e-business area of a large corporation.
+ A minimum of 3 years in a role exclusively addressing Information Architecture or User Experience with significant experience working on complex transactional and/or content-based sites.
+ Strong knowledge of and experience with user-centered design principles and user analysis techniques.
+ Familiarity with Content Management systems and portal environments a plus.
+ Must have client management experience, excellent communication skills and a proven team-player.
+ Ability to understand and integrate business needs and strategy with technology and end-user needs.
+ Strong communication and organization skills.
+ Proficiency in VISIO
+ Experience in Financial and Insurance industries a plus but not mandatory.
