2012 IA Institute Annual Report Released
World IA Day 2013
Theme: Digging Into the architecture part of IA
In 2013, the Information Architecture Institute seeks to facilitate a global conversation about the architecture part of IA and to focus the 2nd annual World IA Day (@WorldIADay) on generating ideas and artifacts that allow greater understanding of what we mean when we say architecture and when we say design in our research and practice.
World IA Day 2013 - Saturday February 9th, 2013
In honor of the publication of the first edition of Information Architecture for the World Wide Web fifteen years ago, the IAI is supporting fifteen official locations for WIAD 2013. We are pleased to announce the following cities as official participants for World Information Architecture Day on Saturday February 9th, 2013.
- Ann Arbor, USA
- Bristol, UK
- Bucharest, Romania
- Budapest, Hungary
- Bogotá, Colombia
- Canberra, Australia
- Dubai, UAE
- Johannesburg, South Africa
- Milan, Italy
- New York City, USA
- Nashville, USA
- Paris, France
- Saõ Paulo, Brazil
- Tokyo, Japan
- Los Angeles, USA*
* Vancouver is no longer able to host World IA Day. We have added Los Angeles as an official site.
Selection was—as it was in the first year—a difficult process. However, we are thrilled to announce that this year World IA Day will be held on every continent! (Antarctica notwithstanding ;)
The official website for World IA Day 2013 will be published in the coming weeks. We will be in contact with those who submitted to be an official venue in the coming days with more details.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who submitted to host! If your city was not selected, we at the IAI encourage you to still run an event on February 9th. Grassroots event organizers will be welcome to join in the series of webinars and conference calls used in coordinating the official events. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the executive team at the the IAI, who would be pleased to answer any questions.
