Details
Next London IA will be on Wednesday 16th November 2011 at Sense Loft between 6-9.30pm
The evening's two talks will be provided by Mags Hanley and Vanessa Harden
Mags is an information architect and UX manager originally from Melbourne Australia, but now living in London. Over the last 10 years, she has worked for organisations as diverse as the BBC, O2 Shop and Bristol City Council. She loves coming up with content structures that can then be manipulated and used within the UI of web sites, creating great user experiences. Her other love is managing people and since 1999 she has been setting up and managing UX teams in Australia, USA and UK ranging in size from 3 to 50 and covering all areas of the UX fields of practice.
Vanessa is a UK-based Canadian designer. She has since been affiliated with various educational institutes, such as the MIT Media Lab, and Hexagram Labs at Concordia University. In 2009, Vanessa obtained her Masters degree in Design Interactions from the Royal College of Art in London. Many of Vanessa's past projects have involved investigating new strategies, which allow for the development and integration of new design practices into everyday life. Previous projects have identified niche areas within society, and explored these through design and new technologies. Her skills lie in concept design, scenario building, creative direction, prototyping, implementation of design installations and technology projection.
