NCSI Introduction to Parallel Programming and Cluster Computing

The National Computational Science Institute is hosting a series of workshops on Introductory Parallel Programming & Cluster Computing, available via videoconferencing to remote offsite participants. IA Institute members are invited to participate in this free event. Please note that non-US citizens will require special approval to attend these sessions. Contact Henry Neeman for details (info below).

June 26 - July 1, Introduction to Parallel Programming and Cluster Computing

July 31 - August 6, Intermediate Parallel Programming and Cluster Computing

The "Team" that you would join is the "OU - Oklahoma University with Henry Neeman" and the "Institution" group that you would use is the "Information Architecture Institute". You can register with your own personal email and home address. You can attend individually, or you can put together a group or class to participate. They only ask that you give the names of any of your class participants who attend with you. Bev Corwin did this last year with a small group in a classroom and it went very well. You can contact her at for feedback. Everyone will need to contact Henry directly, too, and to let him know that you want to attend, so that he can arrange for the accounts necessary for the class.

Videoconferencing sign up instructions:

(1) In your web browser, go to:

http://www.computationalscience.org/

(2) If you haven't yet created an account, do so.

(3) Log in.

(4) Go to the summer 2011 workshops page.

(5) Scroll down to "Introduction to Parallel Programming and Cluster Computing".

(6) Apply for the "Live via videoconferencing for remote offsite participants" version of that tutorial workshop.

We're about to send connection details to people who have registered for remote offsite participation via videoconferencing.
