Presentations

Business Impact of Accessibility – Accessibility is a new era in the area of Information Technology. However, there are several misconceptions about accessibility and often it gets a low priority in the SDLC. The presentation will give insights in to the business impact of accessibility.

Out-of-the-Box Experience (Designing for First-time Use) – What users experience first time, can make or break their perspective of the product. The talk discusses how first-time user experience stays as the major differentiator for product adoption and acceptance.

Speakers

Srinivasu Chakravarthula is currently working for Yahoo! India as Accessibility Manager. He is responsible for leading and evangelizing accessibility and its initiatives across Yahoo! India and South East Asia. Srinivasu is a member of the National Advisory Board of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) India and the Disability Working Committee of NASSCOM. Amit Patil is a post-graduate from the National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar, and has a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science) from Mumbai University. He has explored projects in research, interface, interaction, and user experience design for Web, TV, and mobiles. He currently works as a creative Web specialist at the CIO's office in IBM, Bangalore. His previous stints include working at HP Labs, Opera, and a few startup companies.
