UX Conferences Redux in Denver

World Usability Day 2008

Usability, Interaction Design, and Human Factors professionals from along the Front Range will gather and hear highlights from recent UX/HF/Usability conferences. Speakers will highlight: the June 2008 UPA conference, the April 2008 IA Summit as well as the HFES conference held in New York City in September.

This is a joint meeting of the following Colorado professional groups: Rocky Mountain HFES, UPA Colorado, Rocky Mountain CHI, and IxDA Colorado. Speakers include:

Bob Hamilton

Bob is currently a Software Engineering Manager at Xilinx where he is responsible for developing and maintaining graphical design entry/viewing tools that are part of the Xilinx ISE design software. Bob is also head of the Xilinx Usability Expert Group, which provides usability consulting and resources to desktop application software development teams. His usability work involves collection and analysis of user data, interaction design, usability testing, and education.

Kit Seeborg

Web strategist and senior producer Kit Seeborg translates high-level business goals into project strategies. She then leads teams that include information architects, graphic artists, media producers, writers, web developers and programmers to design and produce quality websites and online communities. An admitted conference junkie, Kit has chaired the eCommerce Conference for the Software Association of Oregon. For the past six year co-chaired the popular WebVisions conference and is currently co-chair of the Thin Air Summit, a new media event in Denver. She has spoken at numerous events including South by Southwest, WebVisions and the SAO eCommerce Conference. She is a member of the Information Architecture Institute, AIGA, and has served as editor for Worldchanging.com, Denver and Portland editions.

Beth Meyer

Beth Meyer received her Ph.D. in engineering psychology from Georgia Tech in 1998. She has worked in the field of human factors and usability for over 15 years, for companies such as Unisys, NCR, US West/Qwest, and is currently with McKesson. She has presented at conferences such as HFES, CHI, HCI International, and the USAB Symposium of the Austrian Computer Society.

Bonnie Hautamaki

Bonnie works as a Human Factors Engineer at McKesson in Westminster, CO. Her “work world” consists of a pleasant combination of understanding the user, making software interfaces easier to use, user interface training, usability testing, and providing input for both new and existing medical and pharmaceutical software applications. Bonnie is currently president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. She is also a member of UPA and a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
